After having lunch at Lotteria, we bought coffee at Starbucks then walked toward Ueno Zoo. I was suupeerr exited because Ueno zoo houses two pandas and this will be the first time that I get too see a real, live, breathing panda!
Entrance to Ueno zoo is 600yen (almost 300PHP). Upon entering the gates of the zoo, you will be greeted by these two cute pandas. Forgive the touristy photos. I felt like a kid again. And PANDA.
This post is turning into a collection of panda pictures. lol. Sorry for that. My obsession with them getting the best of me. 😛 Here’s the last one.
Did I say that this was the first time that I get to see real, live, breathing pandas up close? Can’t stress it enough.
I love how the water gave the illusion that the body of the polar bear is bigger. It looked like the bear had a big body and a small head. 😀 The other one having no care whatsoever to the people looking at him/her.
Penguins being not happy because of the weather (it was summer!)
“ALL HAIL KING JULIAN!!”
Hi there Rufus, the naked Mole Rat! Below are pictures of the red panda.
This is the last picture of a panda, I promise!
Lol at my face. I had a 5AM flight and still haven’t slept. Thus, that look.
After going about Ueno Zoo, we toured around the park. We can see Japanese people going about their usual routine.
Those trees are Cherry Blossom Trees. At around February – March this park is all pink and pretty. See picture below. (disclaimer: photo below is not mine.)
Welcome to Japan! Where even their sewer cover is cute. Phoebe said that for every city, a different tree is depicted. True enough, when we were in Saitama, the sewer cover was that of a Maple Tree.
After touring around Ueno, we went Phoebe’s home in Saitama. Went out to the Grocery / Department store using a bicycle (I haven’t ridden in one for a long time!) and bought some stuffs. That’s how my Day 1 in Japan ended.
