Whenever I hear the words “ball pit”, it always invokes sweet nostalgia that involves my childhood. Memories of being left at play places like Kids at Work (now closed, I think) while my parents go on dates comes rushing back. I remember enjoying the ball pit, jumping up and down without abandon, and just having so much fun while playing with other kids. Sometimes, I just want to play in a ball pit for old times sake. Sadly, most play places today do not allow adults to play inside their ball pits. If only I can go back and play in a ball pit again. *insert sad face*
Lo and behold, the days of wishful thinking is finally over! Ball Pit Manila is coming to town!
What is Ball Pit Manila?
Taking inspiration from ball pits in New York and London, the Ball Pit Manila Team decided to bring the concept on Philippine shores.
Ball Pit Manila boasts of being the first and the biggest adult-only ball pit in the Country. It features more or less 80,000 balls to play with. Aside from balls, the ball pit will have trampolines and even monkey bars so you can dive, jump, and swing to your heart’s content.
The ball pit allows a maximum of 20 people at a given time.
Adults-only? What is the minimum age requirement to enter the ball pit?
As stated, the ball pit is specifically for adults and the youngest they can accommodate is sixteen (16) years old.
Play in a ball pit? What is it for me aside from a trip down memory lane?
Studies show that people of all ages benefit from unstructured play as a respite from the grind of daily life. Its not just a trend, part of the Millennial generation’s unwillingness to grow up and face the world. Play can relieve stress and anxiety, boost creativity, improve brain function and coherent thinking, and improve our relationships with other people by fostering trust with others. With the increase of gadgets and portable games, physical play and interaction with others are often lessened and on other times, there are none at all. So are you now convinced?
How do you ensure cleanliness of the Ball Pit?
If you are one of those people obsessed with cleanliness like me, ball pit can also be synonymous to germs. I’ve read before that kids can get sick after playing in the ball pit due to germs being prevalent because the balls are not cleaned on a regular basis. I like that the ball pit team also took this into consideration. They will be cleaning the pearly white orbs on a bi-monthly basis. Additional steps to make the place hygenic are also implemented. Guests are required to bring clean socks and use the on-site hand sanitizers/alcohol before being allowed to enter the ball pit. They also sell socks on-site if you “forget” to bring one so there are no excuses.
You said that they only allow 20 people max per instance. What if we are more than 20?
Great news for you! Ball Pit Manila also offers group packages perfect for team building activities! You can check their rates here. What other way to spice up a company meeting and make it less boring than having it in a place surrounded by balls, right?
